In spring, attractive, deeply veined green leaves emerge that are twisted on the tips. Following in mid to late summer, when we need color in the landscape, are numerous clusters of fragrant white flowers the butterflies and hummingbirds will thank you for. The flowers are then replaced with striking, cherry-red bracts that persist though fall. Attractive, peeling tan bark provides winter interest.
